Dropping off your shipment at a local carrier store is an alternative to scheduling a pickup, with no pickup fee.
Before you go
- Choose a store that matches the carrier on your labels. A mismatch can delay your shipment. Use our store locator to find one.
- Bring your labels. If you can't print them, most stores can print them for you, sometimes for a small fee.
- Some drop-off locations may charge a fee to accept your package, so it's best to call ahead.
When to drop off
- Before the cut-off: every carrier store has a daily cut-off time, when the carrier collects that day's packages. Drop off before it and your shipment begins transit that day; after it, the next business day. Cut-off times vary by store and by shipping speed (Ground or Express), so check with your store.
- Early is fine: you can drop off before your scheduled ship date, and no label change is needed. Your shipment may begin transit as soon as the carrier collects it, so it may also arrive before your delivery-by date. To keep close to your planned dates, drop off on your ship date.
- Weekends: you can drop off on a weekend if the store is open, but your shipment won't begin transit until the next business day. If you plan to drop off on a weekend, book your ship date as Monday.
Shipping supplies
Most drop-off locations sell boxes and packing materials. The store sets the price, and it isn't included in ShipSkis' fees.
